We hooked up the system direclty to the back of our TV using the "green"(you'll know what i mean when you receive it) cord that was provided and adding our own red/white a/v cords to insert into our TV audio out section. We watched a couple of movies with them and get the "theater" feeling we were looking for - the bass shook the house when we were watching the UFO crash in MIB. There is one downside: We're unable to control the volume with the TV remote for some reason. They work GREAT. This may be something that I just haven't figured out yet - not sure. Like everyone else says - the cords are a bit short, but other than that the system works perfectly.
it'll mute with the TV remote, but other than that we have to get up and physically turn the knob on the provided control box. I bought these speakers as a cheaper alternative for a surround sound system for our Vizio HDTV. I won't say they're the highest quality, but I'm completely satisfied. With the "matrix" button pushed on the provided control panel it gives the 5:1 sound option even with just the red/white cords plugged in (which leaves one cord unplugged to the TV because the back of the bass box has 3 cords leaving it).
Avoid this junk product. They sound like they've been washed in a dishwasher. The sound is fuzzy and static. How on Earth they got such good reviews from others I don't understand. I am not a picky guy when it comes to audio, but these speakers are terrible. I boxed mine up & took them back to the store. Completely unuseable.
With this one I feel I got what I paid for which is a system that is good for a small room or bedroom. I bought this to replace another cheap surround sound speaker set that I bought and returned because I didn't like the sound. The subwoofer doesn't carry too much of a punch but it's better than the system I returned and decent enough to make my movies and games more enjoyable.
Go for the G51, they will last longer and the quality is great. The sound is not that great. They look "Old". You want the great, loud sound, but when you turn up the volume you get an unclear sound, kind of like in the old TV's.Not a good 5.1. Well, logitech is a very good company. But these speakers don't deliver te quality i am looking for. Think of it like this:-You are playing a movie in your room.
These speakers are high quality and give me a very good sound all around. They are perfect for movies and gaming or just listening to music.
